1950's

Class of 1957

Mary Elizabeth Lewis Law is planning to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary with her husband, children and grandchildren this July.  Mary Regina Holter Welsh celebrated her 47th wedding anniversary in February 2007.  Regina and Mary Jane Borrows Myers celebrated 50 years of friendship on a cruise to South America in March 2007.

Class of 1959

Phyllis Herold McCormack of Camarillo, Calif., paid a visit to friend Ruth Boarman Karpers in Baltimore.  Both visited the Stevenson Campus in October after many years away.

Class of 1960

Winifred Dippel DeWaters and her husband celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on October 5, 2007.

Class of 1962

Sandee Watts Falls’ granddaughter, Brittany Falls, is currently a freshman at Villa Julie.  Eugenia “Jean” Reed Oshrine writes, “I hope everyone is well and enjoying this phase in their lives!”  Jean is an attorney for the City of Baltimore but is looking forward to her retirement just around the corner.  Genevieve “Donna” Fitzpatrick Sawers retired with her husband to Naples, Fla., where they plan to continue traveling and enjoying hobbies, such as playing tennis, bridge, and golf.

Class of 1963

Nancy Jean Smith Bopst retired in May of 2007 from Havenwood Preschool Center and is looking forward to spending time with her two grandchildren.

1970's

Class of 1974

VJC welcomes Mary Plevyak Malarkey’s brother, John Plevyak, as the new men’s soccer coach.

Class of 1976

Mary Susan Pyle Donhauser received the Special Appreciation Award for Legg Mason Capital Management.  Lillie Mayo earned her bachelor’s degree in theater from Towson University in 2006.

Class of 1978

Victoria “Vicki” Oliver Wineke has taught for 18 years at the Milford Mill Church Child Development Center.  She enjoys her involvement with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and volunteers as a wish granter. She and her husband live in Owings Mills.

1980's

Class of 1982

Nanette Bouvier Rediker and her family recently took a trip to Quebec to celebrate New Year’s.  Sandra Powell Vervier’s son, Caleb Johnson, is a freshman at VJC.

Class of 1985

Catherine “Cassie” Schwarz Kramer announces that her son, Sean, has become a member of the Villa Julie student body.   Cassie writes, “It’s been 22 years since I graduated and the campus has really changed a lot, but I was happy to see that even though the school is much larger, it still had that small school feeling that I loved so much when I was a student.”  Susan Mitchell Perdomo completed her master’s degree in Management/Information Systems from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in August.  She graduated with honors, Delta Mu Delta.

Christine Hull Manley of Columbia S.C., writes that she has a growing Avon business and recently welcomed twin grandsons into her family.

1990's

Class of 1992

Florence Hill Grant ’92 ’94 received her Ph.D. from the School of Management and Economics at the University of Edinburgh in November 2007.

Class of 1995

Barbara “Barbie” Reeve Hargrave and her husband Lindsay have formally introduced “Lindsay’s Southside Mix”, a drink mix that is now produced at a bottling plant after previously being made in their home for six years.  Their mix was featured in The Baltimore Sun and is sold in Baltimore area liquor stores.  Kimberly Sanders Poremski ’95 ’01 recently accepted a position as Senior Business Systems Analyst with ING Direct in Wilmington, Del., and resides in Cecil County with her husband and two children.

Class of 1998

Amanda Banko has recently relocated to the Portland, Ore., after spending eight years in Santa Barbara, Calif.  Amanda writes, “Life is good!”

Class of 1999

Kerry Zeller Rand earned her master’s degree in Leadership in teaching from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in May 2006.  She is teaching at the St. Stephen School in Bradshaw, Md.

2000's

Class of 2000

Jaime Hicks is working as a Senior Business Consultant for a software company in San Francisco.  Jaime earned her Master’s Degree in Adult Education and Distance Learning from the University of Phoenix Online in 2006.  Jerome T. Palmerino, Jr. has accepted an adjunct faculty position at Villa Julie College.  Rina Vaishnav Rhyne earned a master’s of Social Work from UNC - Chapel Hill in 2006 and currently works in the HIV prevention field in North Carolina, where she and her husband live. Tonya Smith Roberson is a graduate of the first Nurse Anesthetist program at the University of Maryland and is now working as a Nurse Anesthetist.

Class of 2002

Julia Cray Lapp works at Hocus Focus Productions, a professional video, audio, and multi-media production service in Towson, Md.  Sheri Underkoffler received a master’s in business administration from Loyola College in December 2004.  She is studying for the CPA exam and works in the accounting department at the Johns Hopkins Health System.  An interview with Krista Wildt was featured in The Daily Record and on <www.BeWhatIWantToBe.com> about her job as a graphic designer for the Space Telescope Science Institute, which is the home of public outreach activities and other activities for the Hubble Space Telescope.

Class of 2003

Natalie Brown is a sonographer at Good Samaritan Hospital.  Brian Crane is a computer graphic designer at Maryland Screen Printers.  Jenna Adle Lyon received a master’s in forensic studies from Villa Julie College in June 2007.  Jenna is a Litigation Support Specialist at Weyrich, Cronin & Sorra, Chtd. and recently passed the CFE examination.  Brian Rogers has enrolled in the combined M.D./Ph.D. program at the Drexel University College of Medicine. Brian writes, “I am very grateful to the science faculty at Villa Julie for all of their support over the years.”  Sgt. Daniel Varholy ’03 ’05 is currently serving in Iraq with Bravo Company, 175th Maryland Infantry as a squad leader and senior mechanic. Upon his return this spring, he plans to finish his master’s degree at VJC.  Jamie Wheeler graduated from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in May 2007 and is currently practicing in Greenville, S.C.

Class of 2004

Candace Kirby Letts has worked for the United States Marshal Service as a Data Analyst in the Asset Forfeiture Unit since May 2006.  David Lurie is a law clerk to Justice Anthony Scalia of the United States Supreme Court.  Andre Vaseghi is the creative director at bonnie Heneson Communications in Owings Mills.

Class of 2005

Jaclyn Dotter graduated from Arcadia University in February 2008 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Lisa Patrick Durham passed the CPA exam in June 2007.  Aaron “A.J.” Messer is currently working as a webcast producer and editor for FNP@3, the Frederick-News Post Weekly Webcast.  He is also an independent writer, editor, director, and actor.

Class of 2006

Kerri Rosenblatt works in the marketing department at Walden University. Brandon Seidl joined the Villa Julie College staff as Web Writer and Content Manager for Recruitment Communications initiatives in March 2008.

Class of 2007

Kenny Carter designed the logo for NeighborHeart, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a better quality of life for children and adults with autism and other special needs. Studio Spear, a company headed by faculty member Jeff Spear, is the founding sponsor of NeighborHeart.  Keith Greer, Jr. finished his Basic Officer’s Leadership Course as an honors graduate.  He has two to three more rigorous courses to complete, and deployment will come soon after.  His summer was spent training 14-16 hours a day in the “rain forest” in Washington State.  After leaving Washington, he took a road trip across the country to Georgia, where he is stationed. Keith hopes to return to the East Coast for law school by 2012.  Laura Jenkins was quoted in a Baltimore Sun article about new teacher orientation in Howard County. She teaches sixth grade English at Wilde Lake Middle School in Columbia.  In 2007, Laura Lagana won the Community Awareness Award from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Laura was the only recipient from an NCAA Division III school and one of only two honorees across the country.  Jenna Lupinetti entered her first year of study at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, ranked as one of the nation’s best medical schools for the past nine consecutive years.  Diana Miller works at the University of Maryland downtown in their Microbiology and Immunology Department as a research assistant.  Stacey Mosser was pictured in the November/December issue of ACFE’s Fraud Magazine.  Isoke Salaam works in the marketing department at Walden University.  Susan Smith joined the Villa Julie Staff as the Experiential Learning and CareerHQ® Program Assistant in September 2007.  Roya Vassell is a mortgage consultant at Great Oak Lending Partners in Timonium.
